Executive Coaching for Creatives

Karen R. Baker (she/her) is a well-respected and accomplished executive, honing 25+ years of experience inspiring marketing innovation and advancing the redesign of corporate organizational programs, projects, and performance-related initiatives in the public, private, and academic sectors. Karen has excelled in multiple industries, including media (publishing and broadcast), arts and entertainment, higher education, spirits, nonprofits, technology, DEI, and community and economic development. She has earned a reputation for being a mission-driven strategist, trusted consultant, and zealous advocate for change in pursuing organizational growth and development.

I coach executives in creative careers and small business owners of art, design, and/or entertainment businesses through customized designed sessions and group workshops for agencies, creative corporations, University Art and Design Departments, and Art Community Based Organizations to address challenges and reservations of being an artist and/or creative in business and/or the workplace. Whether for individual coaching or facilitated workshops, we address the challenges when leading a team in a creative industry, what it means to be “creative in the workplace” or being a “creative business owner”, how they make sure that they are “privately creative”, receiving much permission to be in a creative career, and receiving criticism and rejection with your work.

We address challenges and reservations about business and/or workplace creativity. Within both settings, we look at personal and professional work strategies, tools, and tactics to continue to be productive with blockers and interruptions. Each session strives to support attendees in their creative process for working, cultivating meaningful projects, and building a supportive team while receiving much permission to be in a creative career.
